The Misfits are an LA band that is also very close in sound and spirit
to the Ramones, with many songs under two minutes and featuring no
guitar solos.  They formed in '77 and shortly thereafter released the
crushing "She."  "Who Killed Marilyn" opens with slid-into chords, like
"God Save The Queen."  See Staff 9.
