The Misfits

They're back! Hard to believe but 13 years after officially calling it
quits, THE MISFITS are returning to the scene they helped create. Tied up
in court fighting for the rights to use the name for the last eight years,
original members Jerry Only and Doyle have recruited a new drummer (Dr. Chud)
and vocalist (Michale Graves) and are hitting the road in North America for
the first time since 1983. Original vocalist Glenn Danzig wasn't interested
in the reunion, even though he wrote all the songs and has a solo career
that's on the rocks. Following the tour (which brings them to Toronto's
Opera House on May 10) they head back into the studio with a new album
scheduled for release later this year. Fans of the band's earlier material
will be very pleased with the live show, Only promises, noting that it'll
be almost two hours of classics with a couple of new tunes thrown in. A
recent three-week jaunt through Europe found the band in fine form playing
to packed houses across the continent. The tour coincides with the release
of a four-CD coffin-shaped box set that features all of the Misfits albums,
all three of them, and 30 outtakes and alternate versions.
